There is difference in engine longevity and reliability for mpfi and tgdi . Because in tgdi fuel is directly injected in cylinder , it has the risk of carbon deposit and damage of cylinder heads, whereas mpfi is more traditional way of injection which is more reliable. Funny it may sound, Technically Nexon petrol is more reliable than Venue turbo petrol.

NA engine is a marathon. A marathon knows when to speed up and when to slow down. He usually starts slow and then speeds up. A marathon can breathe since he runs slow and steady. So NA lasts long and you can push to its limits without fear of vibration, carbon deposits and mpfi will cope up octane 91 even if it’s not that pure or ethanol adulterated. Whereas a turbo engine is a athelete who tops in 0 to 100s like 100m, 200m athlete. But you can’t expect that athelete to keep running longer like a marathon as he needs rest to build energy and he has no time to take breath like a NA since the turbo is effective only in certain higher rpm and will breath restlessly.

We can even relate it to a test player and t20 player 😊 Older generation or techs who know a lot on cricket consider performance of a Test match player to judge him earlier. The T20s are modern and can be related to turbos 😜 you can't expect a Dravid from Gayle😎

@@manojthemirror Got another one😉 NA is more like a grinder and Turbo is more like a mixie. When you need to powder a huge amount, Grinder does it starting with slow speed and moves up since its belt driven. When you want small items to be powdered in a short time, mixie does it. But you can't keep mixie running more than 5 mins in a single stretch. It heats up and you see black fumes 😉 Grinder does it with an ease and thats what it is designed for.

Direct Injection engines may outperform mpfi engines when new. Over the time after 40 to 60 k kms, due to carbon accumulation DI engines become inefficient in power delivery and fuel efficiency. This doesn't happen in MPFI engines as the carbon accumulation is washed away by the injected fuel. .

@@manojthemirror intha technique CVT ya design panna Honda ku kooda theriyuma nu therila😜. Each engines have one sweet spot where it meets performance with efficiency at a certain speed in certain rpm. Varies according to body weight, power to weight ratio, luggages added, etc etc. you will have to spend some hundred kms by self driving to find that bro. In general, cvt is identical to manual in shifting. You will have to lift your foot off from the accelerator each time you rev the engine to higher rpm for speed. If you keep pressing the pedal, engine will stay in the same lower gear thinking you are in need of constant power and you are planning for overtake. Try to bring the engine to desired sweet spot as soon as possible and lift your foot off the pedal. By then cvt will move to smaller pulley (higher gear) and focus on fuel efficiency rather than performance. ivtec manual is a blitz. Ivtech with cvt is a bliss 😊 and bless in city traffic 😉

True. Turbo is to basically provide more thrust due to more air intake. For naturally aspirated even though you give more fuel there is no use since not much air available.
Petrol turbo cars at lower rpm will not have problem and it doesn't mean that engine will be loaded soo much. Basically the engine gets more loaded only when the turbo is active due to which there are lot of compression and expansion happening

In a nutshell i would say , a 4 cylinder will always perform better than the three cylinder turbos in the long run in terms of reliability , as 4 cylinders have a less moving parts.
And in sub 4 meter in terms of petrol tata and Mahindra are pushing you to buy its tubos and they don't offer NAs
And as the car sizes gets bigger if a oem is providing a three cylinder turbo, then i should have done a proper engineering to ensure longevity
Eg the 1.0 tsi has forged crankshafts, Hollow connecting rods etc
So question is since mahindra had extracted maximum power from its 3xo , what engineering has it done for reliability? , so just dont go by the power and torque
So tech costs money , so thats why xtrail is costly
But after all these still the bigger 1.5 and 2 liter even cylinder engines will fare better than the 3 cylinder engines.
So better engineering will increase the life of these three cylinder engines,
Future is not about three cylinder engines, its about the hybrid battery supporting the the three cylinder engines and thereby increasing the general life.
As for venue , sonet their NAs are undpowered but the turbos makes more power but that does not mean they are more reliable than the 1 2s

As per your observation I can understand you suggest NA over Turbo in venue or sonet

@@ganeshkumar007007 so not exactly, my suggestion will be based on the consideration
1 only city usage at least more than 80 percent city usage na NA
2 long-term considerations with flexible usage NA better
3 short-term joy like 7 years max turbo good option and these days Hyundai have started to offer 7 years extended warranty
4 and power to weight ratio plus fuel quality consideration is very important which might not be discussed here ,
Like I said tech costs money and thats why tsi costs a premium

Direct injection engine la , valves and injectors la carbon deposits are a cause of concern.
So as the time goes on carbon deposits will increase, how the oems gonna manage it , depends on the manufacturer, carbon deposits will affect performance
